The Business

Leisure Leagues, is a company which is the UK's largest provider of 5 a side and 6 a side football leagues with organised matches in towns and cities all across the UK.

IT health check
White Pearl took the decision to outsource their IT requirements to Prime Technology approximately 18 months ago, while moving to new premises, and hasn’t looked back since. Their IT systems were in desperate need of attention by someone who knew what they were doing, without having to actually recruit a permanent member of staff.

“The Prime Technology team carried out a review of exactly what systems we had before, giving us their opinion as to what needed to be done to make them more efficient and to actually fulfil our needs” said Stephanie Bullock, Leisure Leagues.

Prime Technology found that all users needed individual access to the Internet to retrieve their emails. This made them dependant in the Internet for communications and also didn’t allow for a clear audit trail of what client requests had been action. Additionally, there was a significant danger of data being lost if a PC crashed.

The existing internet service provision was deemed totally inadequate for the business to run efficiently and to meet long term business requirements.

Planning for the future
From the initial health check, Prime Technology were able to develop a plan of action that not only gave users ownership of emails they were handling, but also centralised all the company data so that the management team could, at any given time, monitor email correspondence or access company documents.

In addition, due to the centralised data storage, a backup routine was proposed, which hadn’t been possible in their previous offices. This was achieved by the recommendation for a server, which Prime Technology helped specify and then install. At the same time, an ISP was introduced to provide Internet access.

The connection speed was deemed capable at the time of installation but, very soon proved to be insufficient. Also, reliability of the line was called into question. Plans were drawn up to provide an alternative internet service provider who would be able to provide a more robust internet connection. Also, internet monitoring software was installed, to allow Prime Technology to pre-empt any likely issues which could potentially create unwelcomed downtime for the business.

In addition to the new network hardware, security cameras where specified for, and installed, with recording facilities included that allowed for easy remote viewing of recorded video. Ongoing partnership Since the audit, the Prime Technology team have completed several other projects including networking further users and ensuring they were all working from standardised work stations.

“We now have a robust system in place that Prime Technology maintains on our behalf, ensuring that all software is updated as necessary and hardware replaced when required. They pre-empt for us any likely issues that will need to be dealt with so there’s minimal disruption for failures, which most importantly saves us money” said Stephanie.

“We know that whenever we have a problem or need a sounding block to bounce ideas off of relating to our systems or IT, we can just pick up the phone and the Prime Technology team will help us in a professional and efficient way” said Stephanie.
